I investigate situations where important URLs are difficult for search engines to discover, unnecessary URLs consume crawl activity, resources are blocked, or page paths create crawl traps. The relevant relationship is search-engine access → discovery → processing.

This can include reviewing robots.txt, inaccessible paths, excessive parameter URLs, blocked resources, crawlable links and repeated URL patterns. Crawl-budget concerns should be considered in proportion to the site: they may require deeper attention on large websites, while a small site may have a more direct access or architecture problem.

Crawling and indexing are related but not identical. I review redirect chains, redirect loops, outdated URLs, 404 responses, soft 404s, 5xx errors, incorrect redirect destinations and migration-related redirect mappings.

Redirect quality matters to users, crawling, URL consolidation and the preservation of relevant signals during site changes. A broken low-value URL does not necessarily have the same priority as a broken service, category or product page. I assess the URLs affected before recommending a response.

Where relevant, I investigate content that appears only after client-side execution, blocked resources, links that are not available in crawlable HTML, delayed content, JavaScript-generated internal links, hydration problems and differences between source and rendered output.

JavaScript websites are not inherently bad for SEO. The question is whether search engines can access and process the important content, links and page elements in the way the site expects. I focus on the actual rendering behavior and its effect on important pages.

Where relevant, I assess LCP, INP, CLS, mobile performance and template-level patterns. Performance is considered as part of technical quality and user experience, alongside accessibility, content, architecture and search relevance.

Improving Core Web Vitals can address a real user-experience or technical weakness, but it does not automatically create large ranking gains. I connect performance findings to the templates and journeys that matter instead of presenting a score as the whole SEO diagnosis.

I review structured data for validity, appropriateness, consistency with visible content and entity clarity. This can include identifying invalid markup, inappropriate types, duplicated or conflicting implementations, and schema that describes information visitors cannot see.

Structured data can support machine understanding and eligibility for certain search features, but it does not guarantee rankings or rich results. The implementation must accurately represent the page and the business.

I review whether XML sitemaps contain the URLs that should be discovered and indexed, whether those URLs are canonical, whether important pages are missing, and whether low-quality or non-canonical URLs are included unnecessarily.

For larger sites, sitemap segmentation and accurate lastmod information may also matter. The appropriate configuration depends on the website’s size, URL patterns and publishing or product structure.

I distinguish between robots.txt and meta robots directives because they control different parts of the search process. Robots.txt primarily controls whether crawlers may request paths, while a meta robots directive can communicate indexation instructions when the page is accessible for crawling.
